Brave Collective Doctrine Update April 2024

Good day Brave Collective! Bit of a change from the usual routine here, as today I have a military update for you all entirely focused on Ship Doctrines! Myself and the rest of the Military team have been hard at work over the past few weeks making some important changes to our doctrine lineup in order to keep Brave Collective in tip-top fighting condition! See below for all the juice deets.

Doctrine Update: Tripods

Our long-standing Tripod Caracal was dealt a deadly blow a couple of months ago by CCP, and unfortunately the loss of its RLML range bonuses means that the fit is in a very awkward place. Tripods have been one of Brave's staple fleet doctrines, and that fit dates back to 2018, making it one of our oldest doctrines in continuous use. However, we have taken this opportunity to retool the Caracal to bring it back to its glory days of being an in-your-face, knife-fighting brawler, and I am excited to see what you can do with this new fit. Doctrine Update: ̶F̶e̶r̶o̶x̶e̶s̶ Atreides Fleet

Our Ferox doctrine has received a bit of rebranding, and under the new moniker Atreides Fleet, is cementing itself as one of our premier home defense workhorses. This doctrine now boasts massive ranges in its AB configuration, and will also carry quickly-swappable refits in cargo to go back into a more conventional fleet fighting role. Have a look at the new standardized fits and adjust your Feroxes accordingly.

New Doctrine Announcement: Rakshasa Fleet

This is the one you've been waiting for folks. As a replacement for our retiring Baltec doctrine, we are pleased to announce the introduction of Brave's first ever Cruise Missile doctrine: The fearsome Typhoon Fleet Issue. This new hull will augment our ability to engage in setpiece battles, as well as complement our existing lineup of support ships flown at the Apex level. Typhoon Fleet Issues are well known for their versatility and wide engagement profiles, and this is an extremely important doctrine for people to start getting skilled and shipped up into as quickly as possible.

As a side note, we are also going to be using this opportunity to formally retire the Zarmazd. This Triglavian Logistics Cruiser was added to our logistics lineup long ago during the Munin era, when logi wings could expect nothing short of a swift death upon going into a brawl against a Munin fleet. It boasted similar output of other logistics cruisers, higher sustained reps over a long term, and most importantly, it was tankier than anything else we could field at the time. Unfortunately these advantages dont outweigh the added cost, and they are now an outdated choice for fleet fights.

SRP Update: Amulets

Now, most people have probably noticed the theme emerging among our Apex doctrines. We are officially an armor alliance, and it stands to reason that we should capitalize on this focus, no? That is why we are officially opening up SRP on Mid-Grade Amulets 1-5 for all Apex Doctrine Faction DPS hulls. That means for the low cost of an amulet set, a frigate for your escape bay (see mandatory fit on the respective battleship pages), you can expect to see around a 20% improvement to your EHP pool on your Typoon and Tempest Fleet Issue hulls.

Please remember, the mandate for SRP eligibility on Amulet Sets will be: Battleship Dies > Succubus dies > Pod with implants dies. If you dont have the correct escape frigate or the battleship was incorrectly fit, this may exclude you from being eligible for Amulet SRP.
